I use hand tools - hand planes, hand saws and the like, I don't own machines - this is traditional techniques. But I do use modern cleaning methods to ensure there isn't flammable dust / sawdust around as that is a danger to my lungs, and a fire risk.

In sorting through some photos I've found a selection which I thought I'd share with you - how I work, using just traditional techniques. Simple.

I like the traditional names of the planes - Scrub Plane, Jack Plane, Fore, Jointer, Smoothing Plane - and these are just the ones like above - all with a specific person, designed to just one job, and does it well when used properly.

I much prefer hand tools as it stays in tune with the materials and it is still possible to work fast on low volume specialist work.
