Today we celebrated VE day, and it was the first day the children have left the house for 7 weeks - although we have used our garden a lot.

75th Anniversary of VE Day

Today we celebrated the 75th Anniversary of VE Day - 75 years ago that the Second World War ended in Europe (although it continued in Japan for several more months and many more people died on both sides).

VE day may be 75 years ago, and there may be less who were actively involved in it now, but it is important to remember these things, we don't want another 1, or in the case of the first half of the last century, 2 world wars again.

As we are self isolating due to the coronavirus we did not leave the house, but cooked scones, and had them after watching some things on the TV about VE day for the children to watch, and heard Churchill's VE speech.

Getting ready
Our 7 year old getting ready

Being patient
And being patient

Scones
Jam, scones (and hidden away) some cream

Getting them ready

Pushing them down
Must push them down
