We are self isolating at home during the pandemic for the duration, with no visitors and no visits out, for the long term.
School is being done at home by us - so we are transitioning from being a parent into parent and teacher, something which certainly at the start our children are enjoying. We are also using video conferencing apps to let them see and talk to their friends from time to time - something they are getting used to and enjoying. As they are missing out on their relationships at school and outside school, we are also in a way replacing their friends too. They need our love, support and encouragement at this time.
We don't mind this, it is part of the package, but it is an observation about the changing relationships that pandemics produce.
